Berlin. We have already reported that, among others, a pastor named Lisco was sued in Berlin for publicly denying Christ's ascension and return, as well as the resurrection of the flesh. The believers hoped that the church government would take serious action against such a denier of the Christian faith. But this did not happen. The highest church authority, to which Lisco had appealed, has indeed rebuked his “imprudence”, but expressly declared that he had not acted against his ordination oath with those omissions! Initially, several faithful pastors said that they would leave the State Church if such open enemies of Christianity as Lisco were protected in it. This has now really happened, so what will those faithful pastors do? W. [Walther]
Back To Luther... and the old (German) Missouri Synod. Below are thoughts, confessions, quotations from a Missouri Synod Lutheran (born 1952) who came back to his old faith... and found more treasures than he knew existed in the training of his youth. The great Lutheran lineage above: Martin Luther, C.F.W. Walther, Franz Pieper.

Deny Sun stood still, deny Resurrection – Pastor Lisco (Knak's opponent)
Walther inserted a news item in the 1872 Der Lutheraner, p. 6, about the German pastor who called out Pastor Gustav Knak and his great confession that “I know of no other world view than that of the Holy Scriptures”, against Copernicanism. Walther reveals in this news item what happens when one believes “Science” over the Bible:
It was interesting to me that Walther did not mention Lisco's relationship to Pastor Knak. But this news item shows “the rest of the story” for one so blatantly against the Truth of all of Holy Scripture – a denial of the Christian faith. Ah, but Walther then focuses on the faithful pastors in association with Pastor Lisco and the State Church: “What will those faithful pastors do?” — This mirrors the situation of the LC-MS 50 years ago… and now. It was announced (“Adios LCMS”) that one pastor and congregation has left the LC-MS in 2019 – Trinity Lutheran Church, Austin Texas and Pastor Paul R. Harris. Walther would have commended this congregation!
